“I grew up with incredibly strong, powerful women around me who were highly intelligent and doing their own thing, and those are the women I’m interested in portraying because that’s what I know to be the truth.” – Naomie Harris in an interview with the @guardian.
Naomie was nominated for an Oscar in Best Actress in a Supporting Role for playing Paula, a mother struggling with drug abuse, in Moonlight (2016). All of her scenes–emotionally demanding in themselves–were shot in just three days. Before and immediately after filming, Naomie was traveling on the press tour for Spectre.
Moonlight won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
